Forward Deployed Engineer, Government
Who We Are
A decade ago, mobile and digital advertising were taking off. The idea of entering a credit card on a phone felt reckless. Most brands nodded at the trend. A few leaned in. The ones who did won.
We're watching something similar happen with agents. The way people find businesses, ask questions, and buy is moving from static pages into conversations. 800 million people are already discovering brands through agent search. How those conversations work, what shows up, and who gets chosen is being decided right now.
The Team
Our Government FDE team deploys Point11's platform into federal and state agencies modernizing how citizens access services. Same mission as private sector — embed, integrate, ship — but with government procurement, compliance, and security requirements layered on top. Every interaction has to feel intelligent, and it has to happen within .11 seconds. The team is small and the bar is high. Founded by an ex-Google team, and we hire accordingly.
What Your First Year Looks Like
- Deploy Point11's platform into a federal agency — integrating with their identity, analytics, and compliance infrastructure
- Design a real-time A/B testing framework that lets agencies compare AI agent performance against their existing citizen engagement tools
- Create the government deployment playbook that standardizes how we onboard new agency clients from contract to production
What the Day-to-Day Feels Like
- Own end-to-end deployments for government clients — their stack, their constraints, their timeline
- Integrate with agency data infrastructure, identity systems, and analytics stacks
- Partner with agency CTOs and engineering leads to define technical success criteria and implementation roadmaps
- Debug production issues under pressure and maintain high client confidence during critical rollouts
- Shape the platform roadmap by feeding client insights directly back to product and engineering
About You
- You've shipped production software with a bias toward getting it live, not getting it perfect
- You've worked in a client-facing technical role: solutions engineering, professional services, or technical consulting
- You're strong across TypeScript, Python, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), and REST/GraphQL APIs
- You're comfortable operating independently with minimal direction in fast-moving client environments
- You're willing to travel up to 50% to client sites — this role is hybrid out of Washington, DC
Even Better If You Have
- Experience deploying software in government or FedRAMP environments
- Familiarity with ATO processes, FISMA, or government compliance frameworks
- Background in digital modernization for public sector
- Real exposure to headless commerce, MCP, or agentic architecture patterns
What We Offer
- Shape how the FDE function operates as we scale the team
- Travel to government client sites across DC, and beyond
- Hybrid base in Washington, DC with client travel
- High-autonomy role with direct mission impact
- Direct line to the founding team on product direction
